Lab Accessories
There are many types of materials that are required to be able to do effecient work in a laboratory. Laboratory equipment of many types are such basic materials. However, there are certain tools and instruments that are not basic because they do not directly influence the research work in a laboratory but are no less important than the laboratory equipment. These are called laboratory accessories or lab accessories.
What are Lab Accessories?
Laboratory or lab accessories are non-essential things that help in performing and improving the core function as well as use of space in a laboratory. Lab accessories may include something that fixes or improves flow of work, collaboration, convenience such as pullout shelves, grommets, lipped shelves etc. In fact, lab accessories can be broadly divided into two categories- ergonomic lab accessories and functional lab accessories. Ergonomic accessories are those accessories that improve working conditions and avoid injury such as the
laboratory safety equipment. Functional accessories help in performing the core functions in a lab such as wire management trays, keyboard tray, computer pullout adjustable shelf or a pullboard etc.
