A funnel is an important laboratory glassware having a variety of uses.
These are used for filtering liquids and solutions and also to add then
to another substance. This conical shaped glassware has a wide mouth and
a narrow outlet/spout. The shape and size of the funnel may vary

- Filter Funnel : This laboratory funnel is used to separate solids from liquids through the process of filtering. A conical shaped filter paper is placed in the funnel and a solution is poured through it. Solid particles are collected on the filter paper.
- Buchner Funnel : This laboratory funnel is also used for filtration. The funnel is made of porcelain and plastic. The funnel consists if a cylinder on top having a perforated plate separating it from the funnel.
- Separating Funnel : This laboratory funnel is used to separate the components of a mixture containing immiscible liquids of different densities.
